Our Process

The stem cell banking process starts from the pre-screening of medical history of the pregnant woman and includes the following steps if qualified (no risk of infectious or genetic diseases):

  • Collection of cord tissue by physicians trained previously for sterile handling of the tissue immediately after delivery.
  • Donor (mom) blood testing for infectious diseases panel
  • Transportation of fresh cord tissue to our GMP facility.
  • Tissue processing immediately after it is received and meets the criteria for stem cell isolation.
  • Primary stem cell culture and intermediate testing to determine whether the tissue/stem cells are contaminated by bacteria or mycoplasma.
  • Expansion of stem cells if no contamination is found.
  • Storage of stem cells banks in liquid nitrogen.
  • Characterization and quality testing of stem cells
  • Regularly assess the quality of stored stem cells (stability testing)
